NextHaircut uses essential sessions and saved preferences to operate the website. The video community has a separate sign-in session for likes, private saved videos and comments.
Essential sessions
A session cookie supports authenticated administration. The video community sign-in cookie lasts up to seven days; it is HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax and is Secure over production HTTPS. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in and other session functions.
Saved browser preferences
Browser storage can remember your chosen color theme, local watch history and playback preferences until you change or clear them. These local preferences do not create an account or synchronize between devices.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only after analytics consent. The consent preference records your choice for up to 180 days. The _ga and _ga_* cookies may distinguish visits after consent, with up to 180 days under the current configuration. Advertising storage, Google Signals and ad personalization remain disabled.
First-party measurement
First-party page requests and brief visible-page presence signals are measured without setting or reading an analytics cookie. This records page path, approximate country when available, device class, referring host and a rotating pseudonymous visitor code. The analytics tables do not store the raw visitor IP address. This measurement is separate from the optional-cookie choice; security controls may process network information.
Your choices
Use Manage Preferences in the footer to change optional analytics consent. Your browser settings can clear cookies and local storage. Following an external link opens a separate service with its own storage and privacy notice.
