Website requests and security

Website requests include the requested page, browser information and network address. Hosting, logging and security controls use this information to deliver the site, detect abuse and protect accounts.

Contact messages and content reports

When you send a message or report a content issue, we receive the name, email address and details you provide. We store the request for review and follow-up, and may forward a notification to the website operator. Include the relevant page address and avoid sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Video community accounts

Registration uses your name, email address and a password hash. Email verification and password recovery use expiring, single-use links. Likes and saved videos are linked to your account; saved videos are private. Your comments and display name are public unless you delete the comment or it is hidden by moderation. Comment reports are available to administrators for review.

A signed-in video session uses an HttpOnly cookie lasting up to seven days. Changing your password invalidates earlier video sessions. Watch history and playback preferences saved locally stay in that browser until you clear its storage.

Cookies and measurement

Essential sessions and saved preferences use cookies or browser storage. Optional Google Analytics runs only after analytics consent. You can change that choice through Manage Preferences in the footer. First-party page and visible-page measurements separately use page paths, approximate country when available, device class, referring host and a rotating pseudonymous visitor code; those analytics tables do not store raw visitor IP addresses. Service providers and external links

Hosting, database, media-delivery and email providers process information needed to operate the site and deliver account or support messages. The production deployment is planned to use Railway, Cloudflare and Resend. Optional analytics uses Google Analytics when configured and accepted. Published articles, images, videos and comments are public. External websites and sharing services have their own privacy notices.

Retention and your requests

We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected, including account operation, handling messages and reports, security and applicable record-keeping obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask about the applicable retention arrangements. We may need enough information to verify the request without asking for your password. Your rights and any required retention depend on the applicable law.

Publisher YouTube connection

Authorized administrators can connect their YouTube channel to upload and manage editorial videos. The server stores encrypted OAuth credentials and channel identification; these credentials are not sent to visitors. Disconnecting deletes the stored channel connection. It does not delete videos already uploaded to YouTube. Visitors do not need this publisher connection to read articles. YouTube links and embedded players use Google's own services and policies.
